As we type, all the level twiddling and fussing over the album recordings is finished! We've signed off the latest mix, received the digital files - and even submitted them to our aggregator to get them cued up for online platforms ready for launch on 26th April (subject to approval, eek!). We also have the file that will magically turn our album into a CD, combined with finalised artwork which is winging its way to the company that will produce the physical CDs ahead of launch. Exciting!

Recording progress - completed it, mate!

Way back when we started to coalesce the album into something that actually exists, Alan set up a spreadsheet to help us keep track of what we were doing, which ostensibly charts our progress against getting everything done. Clearly it had been a while since it was updated - there were still fourteen songs on there, whereas we've plumped with twelve for the album - and there were lots of boxes ready to checked as completed. Album progress is now officially 100% - the only gap being that we've yet to perform a couple of the songs live.

With two songs yet to be performed, after 26th April we'll have this chart at 100% all round!

That gives us an opportunity now to focus on rehearsals more - as we talked about in a previous blog, practice really does make - well, maybe not perfect - but as close to it as we can reasonably achieve. On Tuesday as well as listening to the last bits of the album under debate and agreeing it was ready, we were able to run through the set for the gig tomorrow at The Bodega in Nottingham supporting Shanghai Treason - really excited for that, as well as revisit a few album tracks we've not practiced for a while.

Away from the making noise side of things, Ella and Michelle have been busy with designs for album-related merch, as well as producing some teaser videos for the run up to launch. So keep an eye out on the socials as we count down to launch day, we will clearly have lots to say about our forthcoming release - we need to formulate a plan for how to go about that, but for now it's exciting to be getting back to the stage.

We also managed to utilise the awesome recording Phil did for us at Groovy in combination with Martin's video. Originally the idea was to use the recording to close out the album - unfortunately, it doesn't really work for that purpose, so it's been good to not let it go to waste, it's so good to see the wonderful crowd at Groovy really getting in to the spirit of it and having a good singalong!
